Your data, plainly
What I collect, why, and how to get it removed.
Who I am
Shopfloor Matters is run by me, Matt Barber, as an individual. I'm responsible for any personal data collected through this site. You can reach me about privacy via LinkedIn.
What I collect
If you subscribe to the newsletter, I collect your email address, and the sign-up date and page you signed up from. That's it. I don't run advertising, tracking pixels or analytics cookies on this site.
Why, and on what basis
I use your email address only to send you the newsletter and new articles, because you asked me to. The legal basis is your consent. You can withdraw it at any time.
Who handles it
Newsletter subscriptions are stored and sent by Kit (kit.com), an email service that acts on my behalf. Kit is based in the United States, so your data may be processed there under Kit's data protection safeguards. The site itself is hosted on GitHub Pages, which keeps standard server logs.
I never sell, rent or share your email address with anyone else, including any employer.
How long I keep it
Until you unsubscribe. After that your address is removed from the mailing list.
Your rights
Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also ask me to see, correct or delete your data at any time. If you're unhappy with how your data is handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
